THE GLIMMERING LIGHT

Happy new year guys😀. Its been a minute right? I know, the lazy bug bit me again. You can't blame me👼 But here we are. I wont tell you how my year is so far or if I've gained or lost some weight. For some reason that the first thing people notice when they meet post- covid, or is it just me? Anywho, lets get right into it. Shall we... A story is told of a man(Don't ask me who told the story. I don't know either) A timid guy this man was. Completely removed from the world he lived. Oblivious to the dangers and insecurities that plagued the town he lived. Whether he could hurt a fly I'm not sure. Wait I've never caught a fly. Those things are really fast. I mean who can actually testify to catching leave alone hurting a fly? Not sure why we even adapted the expression in the first place. I think our old wise men should change that quote. Maybe say something like, He couldn't hurt a chicken. Makes more sense. Right? I know a couple of guys who feel guilty mur

HOME AT LAST?

I know its been a while since you heard from me. Forgive me?😢Thanks guys. I knew I was graced to have you as an audience.😇  In case you missed part 2 of Martin's 'dramatic' life in the city, you could  start here .  Lets get right into it. Shall we? Where were we? Right. .............................................................................................................................................................. Back in the city, nothing seemed to be working for Martin. The job he knew he would get as soon as he started making applications was a pipe dream. To make it worse, he never received a single job interview. With his bank account freed from all the weight it had a couple of months back, his credit card maxed out and the money he got from selling his car used to pay his arrears in rent, he knew he was at the end of his tether. A year was almost up since his leaving home and he was running out of options. With barely any money to buy his food let alon

HOME AWAY FROM HOME?

Missed part one of the four part series, how about you start from the top and understand the genesis of all this. Start here   then continue below  😊 Monday arrived faster than expected. No sooner did Martin’s share hit the accounts than the guy had all his things packed and ready to go. His dad paid him a visit numerous times trying to speak some sense into him but all he got were rolled eyes and banged doors every time he tried. The pain Cyril got on seeing his son leave that Monday morning brought untold sorrow. He couldn’t help but feel that he was losing his son for good just as he had lost his wife Maryanne. Martin drove off his father’s estate with not so much as a good bye to his family. His future never once crossed his mind. All he could think about was how he could have the time of his life. “After all, I have worked practically all my life for dad’s company. I can afford the long vacation. The future can wait.” He grinned as he drove out of his home town.

HOME ISN'T HOME

Cyril Kamahindu stood outside his office with his hands akimbo and a broad smile on his face. God had been nothing but gracious and faithful. There were a number of rough edges in his life, but it was nothing compared to what God had blessed him with. Cyril and Sons Company Limited was doing well. Exceptionally well. Better than any other business in Thaita town. His greatest achievement however was having his two sons work alongside him. Nothing gave him satisfaction other than God being his life’s foundation and building his business empire with both his sons by his side. “God is good!”  He said to himself, the broad smile growing larger as he shut the door to his Mercedes and walked towards the building that housed his company.  Martin, Cyril’s second borne son had arrived earlier than the rest of the workers. Holed up in his office which was directly opposite that of his dad’s, he finished up on his management reports. There was a meeting at 10 am with the company’s boards

MIGHT GOD BE REALLY GOOD AND MAN JUST DOESNT SEE IT?

I know I am extremely late to post this. I can't quite come up with a good enough excuse to wriggle my way out of this. Instead, I'll apologize sincerely and get right into it😊. I'm forgiven. Yes?  Last month(but one), I chose to delve into the goodness of God , dissecting this fact in a way that I felt God leading me to. Writing part one of the post wasn't difficult. However, i never did know what I was getting myself into.  The goodness and existence of God is a topic that has quite a number of angles to look at. I must say that i hit a dead lock. And i just didn't know how to move on from part one. Okay, that is the surface reason. The real reason that I didn't feel I was in a good enough place to hear from God. But then, I had a brilliant idea.  This brilliant idea involved bringing on board a brilliant minded girl. I think I should call her crazy😉but crazy in a good way. Lets call it crazy with a touch of her Heavenly Father, coated with ref

IS GOD REALLY GOOD OR ARE WE REALLY BAD?

Over the course of time, many critics and naysayers have come up questioning the existence of God. Their bone of contention, if God really is real, why is there so much evil in the world? Why are little kids in Syria and Afghanistan dying in wars? Why do the good people die while the bad live and exploit the good? The questions are endless. Christians bear the brunt of this tough question, with many of them at a loss of the response to give in defense of their faith. I may not be a Bible scholar or an apologetic, but allow me to indulge you for a few in this short story. I trust my little knowledge of God will sorta make sense of all this. The beginning. Now imagine you are a really old man with so much love to go around. Too much of it. In fact, so much so that you feel that this love needs more someone to share it with. So what do you do, you  think to yourself, I think I should share this love with more people. So you decide, create two guys. As in like create them like you

FORGET YOUR TRUTH. 'THE' TRUTH IS HERE.

"Do you want to discover your purpose? Find true happiness?" Nyaruai was scrolling through her TV set after a hard day's work when she came across the TV ad. Nyaruai  had just found her footing after years of looking for a stable job. She felt that finding a job away from her home in Kenya would give her the break she sought. And true to her thoughts, Miami was good to her. Her job paid her enough to live the life she always wanted. She lived in a penthouse. Drove a car she would only have dreamed of five years ago and was well on her way to getting full citizenship in the US. Her folks lived comfortably in Nyeri, courtesy of the money she sent home every month. Life was good. Or so she thought. She still felt that something was missing but could not quite point out what. Now this TV ad sounded like the answers to her prayers. Could happiness be that missing piece to her puzzle? "...find that peace that seems to be eluding you? Well we, my dear are the answ
